Our niece Rachael had her First Communion this past weekend. She was beautiful. Congratulations Rachael!
This is my sister's bike. While it looks like there are several bikes here, there is only one in the photo. There is a special seat attached to the front, then a back attachment that basically turns it into a 2 seater bike, and then the trailer which can hold 2 kids. Wow, it's practically a bus!

Kristen Elsie Cole: The First Year

I made this slideshow for Kristen's first birthday party. I know it's over a year old now, but I thought I would share it. There are so many pictures on here of Timmy from birth so I thought this would be a nice way to share pictures of Kristen from birth. I hope you enjoy!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! We had a wonderful Easter at the Cole household. Last week Kristen participated in her first Easter egg hunt. She had a great time and looked adorable in the process. Timmy wasn't quite up for the egg hunt, but he was there to cheer Kristen on.

On Easter we started the day off by going to Mass. Then we came home and Kristen had her own private egg hunt in the backyard. The Easter bunny knows her well and left her eggs filled with Little People figures, she was very excited to open them. After that we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Tobin's house for an Easter pageant and dinner. We had a great time.

Someone is teething! We still haven't had a tooth break through the skin yet, but we know we are close.

It doesn't matter how we lay him down in the crib for his naps, he invariably pivots and sticks his foot out the slats. During his night sleep he doesn't move nearly as much.
Kristen loved wearing her hair in pigtails. Unfortunately, she hated the process of getting her hair in the pigtails, so this won't be a regular look for her. I think she looks awfully cute though.

Definitely not the most flattering picture of me, but this is the best way I can think of to spend a lazy Saturday morning. I am one lucky mommy.

6 Months Old and a Visit from Grandma!

It's hard to believe my baby is six months old now. It feels like it was only a short while ago that I was pregnant yet somehow he's already six months old. He is a BIG six month old too. Unlike Kristen who was a peanut her entire first year, Timmy is HUGE. Kristen calls him Timmy Big. He had his 6 month appointment and weighed in at 20 pounds 12 ounces. This put him in the 85th-90th percentile for weight, which is pretty big. But his length, oh boy do we have a big one. He was 29 inches long. The doctor said he was off the charts, way off the charts. It's just such a huge change from Kristen as a baby that I can't help but marvel about how big and healthy my boy is. He actually weighs more now than Kristen did at 12 months!

Last week we also enjoyed a visit from Grandma Robin. Kristen was thrilled to spend some quality time with her out of town Grandma and Timmy just soaked up the love. Have I mentioned Timmy is a big cuddlebug, he loves to cuddle. Mike and I weren't very good about taking pictures during her visit, but we did get a few taken just a few hours before we had to drop her off at the airport to go home. We love you Grandma Robin, thank you for coming to visit!

There really isn't much cuter than a laughing baby. Please forgive the wild camera work, Mike was holding the camera with one hand and the dog with the other!

Oops, it's been awhile

I'm sorry I haven't been very good at keeping up with the blog lately. I promise I will try and do better. We have had a pretty easy few weeks, nothing too spectacular going on. Timmy sits up pretty well now. He can't put himself in a sit, but if we sit him up he stays up for a little while before losing his balance. Kristen is constantly amazing me with how much she is learning. Mike and I have been working with her on her colors and numbers and she is doing great. Out of the blue she counted to twenty! I haven't managed to get her to repeat that feat though, so who knows if it's something she can do on a regular basis.

I am happy to report that Timothy is finally sleeping in his crib! His crib was recalled and it has taken a very long time for the replacement part to come in. Because of this he has been in his bassinet all the way until this past Monday. He was getting very smushed in there. Thankfully, the parts finally arrived and we were able to get it set up Monday. The transition was very easy. He looks so much more comfortable now that he has room to spread out.

My dad is a Leap Year baby. He turned 65 this year and we had a little family party at Pizza Hut. You can see the birthday boy in the background wearing a goofy hat.
