Timothy is 4 months old!

After all the excitement of late December and early January we have been taking it easy the last 2 weeks. Michael turned 30 last Wednesday and we celebrated with a dinner out to Buca di Beppo and then eating some yummy homemade birthday cake.

Timothy had his four month doctor appointment. He is doing very well and is a healthy boy. We suspected he was a very long boy based on how he was fitting in his clothes and we were correct. He measured 27.17 inches long putting him in the 97th percentile! We have a tall boy on our hands. He weighed in at 15 pounds, 13 ounces which is 75th%. I noticed he weighs the exact same his cousin Andrew did at 4 months old, how crazy is that?

Here are some of my favorite photos from the last 2 weeks and a video of Kristen and Timmy.

Snow!

Yes, you read it correctly, snow! This past weekend we drove up to Flagstaff for a visit with my good friend Stephanie and her family and a romp in the snow. It was Kristen's first time experiencing the white stuff. Unfortunately, it wasn't very fresh so it was fairly crunchy, but we had a great time. Of course, we brought the camera along to document this important first.

Here is Kristen getting all bundled up.

Timmy can now roll over from front to back. The first time he did it was Sunday, but we didn't manage to capture it on video until tonight. Here is my big boy rolling over!

My Little Girl is Two!

On January 3rd my little girl turned 2 years old! It's hard to believe how much she has changed over those two years. It feels like just yesterday when I welcomed my baby girl into the world, yet it also feels as if she's been a part of my life forever.

Kristen Elsie at 1 day old

Kristen has recently become obsessed with Elmo. I'm not sure where this came from because we very rarely watch Sesame Street, but there was no denying her love of him. Because of this I decided to go with an Elmo theme for her party. It was a wonderful celebration for a very special girl.

The cake. I was pretty happy with how it turned out.

Mike, Robin (Kristen's grandma), and Pete (Kristen's uncle) getting the plates down for the party. This picture amuses me because my MIL is holding all the booze. The real story is the alcohol was in the way of the plates so she was just being helpful.

This princess tea set was a huge hit.
She got this drum from her Grandma Robin and Grandpa Dave. Dave made it for her and she absolutely loves it.

One of our guests got a little over-excited about the Elmo cake and couldn't contain himself. Elmo has a bit of a scar on his left cheek as a result. Kristen didn't notice and was so excited to see her cake.
Here are Kristen and her cousins and friends enjoying their cake and ice cream.
Timmy fell asleep in his daddy's arms for a large portion of the party.

Timothy's Baptism

On Sunday December 28th we celebrated Timothy's baptism. My sister had a baby on Thanksgiving, so we were able to have an extra special celebration and have our two babies baptized at the same time. The baptism was done at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Maricopa, AZ, the home parish of my sister's family. It was a wonderful day and we were blessed to be able to celebrate with our family and friends.

Timothy's godparents are Sean and Kara Davis. They have been some of my closest friends since our days at ASU together. Unfortunately, Kara was unable to be at the baptism in person. My brother Peter offered to stand in as a proxy at the last minute.

Here is Timmy trying on his baptismal outfit. He was too big to wear the first three we tried! We tried out the two outfits my brothers had worn as well as the one worn by my BIL and nephew. Fortunately, my friend Tiffany loaned us this beautiful suit. She had a big baby boy too so it fit Timothy perfectly.
Here are Michael, Karen, Sean (the godfather), Timothy, and Peter (godmother proxy) waiting for the baptism to begin.
Stephen (Bridget's godfather), Susan (Bridget's godmother), Bridget, Lynn and Michael.

Kristen was so good and waited patiently with her Grandma.

What a handsome boy!

My mom started the tradition of baking this stand up lamb cake for each of her children's baptisms. My sister and I have carried on this tradition and this cake has been made for all of our children as well. I made the cake for this celebration. I obviously haven't mastered the eyes, but overall I was pretty satisfied with it.

We also had a huge Costco cake just to make sure there was enough cake for everyone. The cake reads "God Bless Timothy James and Bridget Anne".

Christmas pictures!

I'm sorry it's been so long since I've updated the blog. It has been a very busy few weeks. My mom was in the hospital just before Christmas (fortunately she is doing very well now). And in the short time since Christmas we have had Michael's parents and brother visiting us, Timothy's baptism and Kristen's 2nd birthday! I am only going to do one update at a time so there will be a baptism and birthday update coming soon.

We hosted a Christmas party shortly before Christmas. Here are two of our good friends, Bill and April, feeding Timmy his bottle just before he went to bed.

Kristen loves to pose for pictures with Timmy. Here they are just a few days before Christmas. Timmy is getting so big so quickly!

Kristen sure gave us a surprise on Christmas morning. We woke up to find her naked in her crib holding her diaper!

Here are Kristen and Timmy posing next to the Christmas tree before opening the presents to see what Santa brought. Kristen showing off her Cinderella DVD from Santa.

Kristen loves her teddy bear that Bill and April gave her.

Timmy got in on the present action too.

We went to Grandma and Grandpa Tobin's house for more Christmas celebrating. The kids put on a little Christmas pageant. Kristen and Timothy didn't have costumes, but Grandma was able to come up with a last minute angel costume for Kristen. Timothy didn't get a costume, but we decided he could be in the picture too. And here is Timothy all ready for bed after a long and tiring first Christmas. Doesn't he look cozy?
